Sermon #5: Connecting Repentance and Restoration.

Sermon #5: Connecting Repentance and Restoration.

The fifth sermon in the series of Making Spiritual Connections is “Connecting Repentance and Restoration.” If we are going to make this connection, we must be fully engaged with God as He speaks with us. We must understand that “sin” disconnects us from God. And the enemy knows that, and he wants to keep us disconnected from God. To get to the repentance stage there are five things we must realize: we must be able to recognize sin; there must be remorse; there must be confession; there must be a reversal; and finally, there is restitution.

Repentance is a relational matter; because the legal matter of you being saved was settled on the Cross. But sin interferes with your relationship, and repentance and forgiveness restores it. True repentance requires a new spirit and a new heart, but…God has already given us a new spirit and a new heart. You see, everything God expects from His people, He provides for them. So God never ask you to do anything that He does not already provide both the will and the ability to accomplish. So, come home and be restored! God is calling you home.
